Congratulations Alivia Androff, the Franklin County 2024 Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarship recipient. Alivia graduated from West Frankfort Community High School and is the daughter of Javan and Leishi Androff. She plans to attend Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in the fall to study Dental Hygiene.![]()

Domestic Violence / Discharge of a Firearm ![]()

On Saturday, May 11, at approximately 9:40 pm deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident occurring in Buckner. While en route, the caller reported that the alleged suspect in the incident was in possession of a firearm and had discharged the gun. Deputies requested assistance from area municipal departments and also contacted EMS to stage. The Illinois State Police also dispatched troopers. ![]()

Upon arrival deputies located the involved parties and determined that the suspect was no longer in possession of the firearm, but had discharged the gun in close proximity to other individuals that were on scene. Deputies and other officers on scene began collecting information. As a result of the incident, Cody W. Crews (29) of Buckner was placed under arrest and has been charged with two counts of Domestic Battery, Interference with the Reporting of Domestic Violence, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. Additional charges are possible as a result of the incident. Crews is currently being housed in the Franklin County Jail. ![]()
