The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the promotion of Correctional Officer Kenny Jacobs to the rank of Lieutenant.![]()

Lt. Jacobs has served as a Correctional Officer with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office since 2020. In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he continued to demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and a strong commitment to the operations of the Franklin County Jail.![]()

Lt. Jacobs is a graduate of West Frankfort High School and John A. Logan College, where he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.![]()

Lt. Jacobs is a valued member of our correctional team and, in his new role, will assist with both the administrative and operational functions of the jail facility. His experience, knowledge, and dedication will be valuable as we continue working to ensure safe, professional, and efficient correctional operations.![]()

Monthly Warning System Test![]()

This is a test of the Franklin County Office of Emergency Management & Communications Emergency Alert System.![]()
Testing of local warning systems, including outdoor warning sirens, will occur at 10:00 AM in accordance with Illinois State Statute.![]()
Some communities have the ability to conduct silent testing. As a result, an audible test of outdoor warning sirens may not occur, especially during inclement weather.![]()
This monthly test is an excellent opportunity to ensure you have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts from the National Weather Service and local officials.![]()
